Our Tree Service Equipment
Successful tree work depends on more than cutting power. It requires the right equipment for height, access, material handling, crew coordination, and cleanup. Shannon Tree Service maintains a purpose-built fleet for residential and commercial tree care throughout the Outer and Lower Cape.
A Closer Look at Our Fleet
74-Ft Leguan 225 Spider Lift
Reaching a tall tree does not always mean a full-sized bucket truck can reach the property. The Leguan 225 combines a maximum working height of approximately 74 feet and up to 36 feet of side reach with a compact tracked chassis designed for uneven and challenging terrain.
Its combination of height, outreach, and maneuverability helps our crew work around obstacles and access trees in narrow yards, backyards, and other limited-access locations. Automatic outrigger leveling also helps establish a stable working platform when site conditions allow.
Key Capabilities:
- Approximately 74-foot maximum working height
- Up to 36 feet of maximum side reach
- Compact tracked undercarriage
- Automatic outrigger leveling
- Designed for demanding outdoor terrain
Two Avant 528 Compact Loaders
Tree work often involves moving heavy logs, limbs, brush, and equipment through areas where larger machines can’t fit. We operate two Avant 528 articulated loaders that combine meaningful lifting ability with a compact footprint.
Their articulated steering, telescopic boom, and 4-wheel hydrostatic drive help maneuver through narrow pathways and confined jobsites while limiting unnecessary disturbance to yards. They also reduce manual material handling and help keep wood and brush moving efficiently toward the chipper.
Key Capabilities:
- Compact, articulated design
- Maneuverability in narrow yards and access routes
- Telescopic boom for added reach
- Material handling for logs, limbs, and brush
- Reduced manual handling during cleanup
Bandit 1590 XP Chipper
Pruning and tree removal can quickly produce a large volume of limbs and brush. Our Bandit 1590 XP is an 18-inch-capacity drum chipper designed to process substantial tree material efficiently.
By reducing bulky limbs and brush into manageable chips at the property, the chipper helps keep the worksite controlled, reduces the volume of material that must be transported, and supports a more efficient cleanup process.
Key Capabilities:
- 18-inch chipping capacity
- High-volume processing of limbs and brush
- Efficient debris reduction
- Faster, more organized cleanup
- Supports residential and commercial tree projects
Integrated In-Helmet Communication
Tree work requires precise coordination between the climber, ground crew, and equipment operators. Our integrated helmet communication system allows crew members to communicate directly without relying on shouting across a noisy worksite.
Clear communication helps the team coordinate cuts, rigging, rope movement, equipment positioning, and changing site conditions. It provides another layer of control during routine pruning, technical removals, and complex tight-area work.
Trucks, Trailers & Dedicated Chip Dump
A complete tree-care operation requires more than the equipment working beneath the tree. Shannon Tree Service uses multiple trucks, trailers, and a dedicated chip dump to transport equipment, haul wood and debris, and support thorough cleanup.
This support fleet allows us to bring the right equipment for each project and keep the operation organized and largely self-contained from arrival through departure.
The Right Tools, Guided by Experience
Specialized equipment expands what our crew can accomplish, but it does not replace sound judgment. Owner Topher Mira brings more than 29 years of tree care experience to the planning and execution of each project.
We evaluate the condition of the tree, available access, surrounding property, equipment placement, and work sequence before cutting begins. That combination of experienced decision-making, purpose-built equipment, and constant crew communication helps us approach difficult tree work with greater control.
Equipped for Cape Cod’s Access Challenges
Narrow driveways, compact yards, mature trees, uneven terrain, and carefully maintained landscapes can make tree work especially challenging. Full-sized bucket trucks and conventional machinery cannot always reach the areas where work needs to be completed.
Our compact, specialized equipment gives us more options. Before every project, we assess the trees, access route, surrounding structures, ground conditions, and cleanup requirements so we can select the right combination of equipment for the property.
Reach Difficult Trees
Compact tracked access equipment helps our crew reach tall trees in backyards, confined areas, and locations conventional bucket trucks may not be able to enter.
Minimize Property Impact
Compact loaders and thoughtful equipment planning help reduce unnecessary traffic and disturbance around lawns, landscaping, driveways, and nearby structures.
Improve Crew Coordination
Integrated in-helmet communication keeps climbers, ground crew members, and equipment operators connected throughout the work.
Keep Cleanup Moving
High-capacity chipping and dedicated hauling equipment help control debris and keep the property organized from active tree work through final cleanup.
Have a Difficult Tree on Your Property?
Whether the tree is behind a home, surrounded by landscaping, located on uneven terrain, or simply difficult to reach, our team can assess the property and determine the safest, most practical approach.
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Specialized Tree Service Equipment
Why does specialized tree service equipment matter?
Specialized equipment gives a tree-care crew more options for safely reaching trees, moving heavy material, coordinating work, and controlling debris. It can be especially valuable on properties with narrow access, confined work areas, finished landscaping, or uneven terrain.
How high can the Shannon Tree Service lift reach?
The Leguan 225 has a maximum working height of approximately 74 feet and maximum side reach of approximately 36 feet. Actual reach depends on equipment setup, platform load, terrain, and site conditions.
Can the Leguan lift access areas a bucket truck cannot?
Its compact tracked design allows it to enter many backyards and limited-access areas that may be inaccessible to a conventional bucket truck. Every property must still be assessed for entry width, slopes, ground stability, obstacles, and sufficient space for the outriggers.
How do the Avant loaders help protect a property?
The compact size and articulated steering of the Avant loaders help them maneuver through narrow spaces with less turning disturbance than many larger machines. Ground conditions vary, so the crew evaluates each access route and uses additional property protection when appropriate.
What does the Bandit 1590 XP chipper do?
The Bandit 1590 XP is an 18-inch-capacity drum chipper used to process limbs and brush generated during pruning and tree removal. Chipping reduces debris volume and helps keep material moving efficiently off the property.
